About Me

Hello, I’m Amy! I am passionate about supporting individuals and families find healing, connection, and reconciliation with death, trauma, and a myriad of life experiences. I seek to provide educational and evidence-based therapeutic interventions as a means to provide validation, understanding, and empathy to the experiences of grief and trauma. I am particularly dedicated to bringing greater awareness and compassion for people experiencing disenfranchised grief – those who may feel their grief is not “real” or “valid.” I intend to always create a space to safely hold all types of grief, trauma, loss, and the array of complex emotions that follow these experiences. In addition to my grief work and training, I have experience with military life as a spouse, anxiety and depression, sexual assault and abuse, childhood neglect and abuse, behavioral challenges with children, and life transitions. I am able to offer services to anyone located in Colorado, Kansas, Virginia, and Massachusetts.

My Approach

I work from a client-centered, non-medical approach, meaning that myself and my client(s) work collaboratively to reach your goals, or the goals you develop during our work together. I follow my client’s lead to ensure they feel heard and supported in their concerns. I want to create a space that feels authentic and comfortable for my clients to speak honestly and openly, as that is the only way to create true change and healing. I also incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to connect thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and beliefs about oneself into how they interact with the world. Additionally, I integrate Bibliotherapy, Narrative Therapy, Group Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.
